Welcome to my online home.
I am Mary Pickard Winsor, historian of biology, born in 1943. My nickname is Polly.
I was named after my father’s aunt, Mary Pickard Winsor (1860-1950), founder of the Winsor School. Also named after that accomplished woman was my father’s cousin Mary Pickard Winsor (1896-1968); her nickname was Marybud and she was a suffragette. She became Mrs. Walter Henry Trumbull in 1919.
I have now published the result of my study of Hugh Strickland’s wall chart, “Natural Affinities of the Class of Birds”. Further information about my series of publications on it can be found here.
